7th Pay Commission: Minimum Pay, Fitment Factor Hike For Central Government Employees Likely in 3 Days?
7th Pay Commission Latest News: The 50 lakh Central Government employees and an equivalent retirees can get a good news regarding a hike in minimum pay and fitment factor beyond the 7th Pay Commission recommendations in next three days. The reports of the same are doing rounds since many days. The announcement about the hike in fitment factor and minimum pay beyond 7th CPC or 7th Central Pay Commissionrecommendations is likely to be made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15 during the Independence Day speech. With the announcement, the minimum pay of Central Government employees will increase by Rs 8,000 and the fitment factor will be increased by up to 3.68 times. The salary of the Central Government employees, after the announcement, will reach up to Rs 26,000.
Meanwhile, the All India Station Masters’ Association (AISMA) called a 24-hour strike on Saturday over alleged discrimination in the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission) by government. This came a few days after the Maharashtra government announced salary hike under 7th Pay Commission from January 2019 for 17 lakh state employees.
Amid the reports of a hike in the fitment factor and minimum pay of Central Government employees beyond 7th Pay Commission, the Haryana Government recently approved the pay scale recommendations to the teaching and non-teaching staff of government universities, government colleges and government aided colleges with effect from January 1, 2016.
Other states that have started providing the benefits of 7th Pay Commission to their employees are Bihar, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, a report suggests that the Central Government employees and pensioners are likely to get a hike in the dearness allowance (DA). The news has given firmness to their wait for a hike in fitment factor and minimum pay beyond recommendations of 7th CPC.
In between all of the reports, an announcement made in March this year by the government must be taken note of. In Rajya Sabha, Minister of Finance (MoS) P Radhakrishnan had announced that the Centre is not considering making an announcement a hike in minimum pay and fitment factor beyond 7th Pay Commission for 50 lakh Central Government employees.
